Vivek Ramaswamy on Monday announced his campaign for Ohio governor.
Ramaswamy built up his national profile through his long-shot presidential bid last year, before becoming a Trump surrogate and briefly running the so-called Department of Government Efficiency alongside Elon Musk.
New polling from a pro-Ramaswamy firm suggests he’d be the primary front-runner, despite lacking experience in elected office.
The biotech entrepreneur would join Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost (R) in the GOP primary race to succeed term-limited Gov. Mike DeWine (R).
Ramaswamy is expected to speak in New Albany, Ohio, at 8:30 p.m. EST.
