The head of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will testify on oversight of the agency before the House Appropriations Committee on Wednesday morning.
NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy was appointed to the board in 2017 during President Trump's first term and later nominated for chair by former President Biden. She assumed office in 2021.
The oversight hearing comes as the agency has been in the spotlight following recent deadly plane crashes, including the collision of an Army helicopter and American Airlines passenger flight earlier this year outside of Reagan Washington National Airport. The incident left more than 60 people dead.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EDT.
