Watch live: House GOP leaders hold news conference after clinching majority
House GOP leadership will speak Tuesday morning after clinching the majority in last week's election, handing Republicans full control of Congress and the White House next year.
Their remarks come as the House weighs whether to complete lawmakers' annual funding work by the Dec. 20 deadline or punt it to next year, when President-elect Trump takes office.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.), Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) and Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), the chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee, are among those set to attend the news conference.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
