Watch live: House convenes hearing on combating foreign interference in elections
The Committee on House Administration is holding a hearing Wednesday morning looking into ways to combat foreign interference in U.S. elections.
The intelligence community warned a day before the November election that U.S. adversaries — including Russia and China — were intensifying their disinformation efforts by promoting false claims about voting, particularly that election officials were coordinating fraud, intelligence officials said.
Ahead of the election, from which President-elect Trump and Republicans emerged with a trifecta, fear around foreign influence was at an all-time high, especially as artificial intelligence has advanced.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
