Watch: Buttigieg speaks on expected Thanksgiving week travel
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is briefed the press Thursday morning — a week before Thanksgiving Day — on what's expected to be a record holiday travel season.
Buttigieg will be joined by Federal Aviation Administration chief Michael Whitaker and Transportation Security Administration head David Pekoske.
His comments come just days after AAA said in a release that it predicts 79.9 million travelers will go 50 miles or more for the Thanksgiving holiday period, which begins Tuesday and runs through Dec. 2. The projection is 1.7 million more travelers than 2023.
