Would Trump or Harris better handle the economy? |
A new survey finds voters see Vice President Harris and former President Trump as roughly equal on the question of who would best support the economy. |

Harris earns 41 percent support compared to Trump’s 43 percent, the data shows, according to the latest poll conducted by The Associated Press/NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. About 1 in 10 voters said they either trust the two presidential nominees equally or don’t trust either candidate.
The former president has sought to link Harris to President Biden’s unpopular record on inflation and his “Bidenomics” agenda.
But as inflation and the economy appear to be moving in a more positive direction, the vice president has been able to capitalize on the shift, likely helping to influence public opinion on the issue.
Roughly 60 percent of Americans disapproved of Biden’s handling of the economy before the president dropped out of the race in July, according to a separate AP-NORC poll conducted in late June.
In the latest survey, 80 percent of registered voters listed the economy as one of the most important issues going into November.

The latest moves in some of Washington’s biggest lobbying battles: |
The Hill's newest technology reporter Miranda Nazzaro writes about an interesting pro-crypto campaign event she attended Wednesday night in the industry's latest push to mobilize crypto owners and industry supporters to take to the polls this November.
The event, hosted by Stand with Crypto — a nonprofit launched last year with the help of cryptocurrency company Coinbase — was the campaign’s final stop in a swing-state tour and featured a performance by electronic DJ duo “The Chainsmokers.” The campaign previously made stops in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Detroit, Milwaukee and Philadelphia.
"The crypto voter is real, bipartisan, and ready to engage this cycle,” Stand with Crypto’s executive director Logan Dobson told The Hill. “It's clear that the crypto voting bloc is here and it's here to stay.”
Dobson, who also serves as the vice president of Targeted Victory, previously worked for the National Republican Senatorial Committee in the office of former Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.). |
