Trump taps ex-Fox News contributor to join State department
President-elect Trump announced Friday that former Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce is slated to join his State Department later this month.
“It is my great honor to announce that Tammy Bruce will be joining our incredible Nominee for United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, as Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State,” he wrote on Truth Social.”
Bruce, until Friday, served as a Fox News contributor, according to a spokesperson. She joined the network in 2005 and has authored several books.
“Tammy Bruce has been an extremely valued contributor at FOX News Media for nearly 20 years and we wish her all the best in her new role,” the Fox News spokesperson told The Hill.
Trump described Bruce as a “highly respected political analyst” who “saw the lies and fraud of the Radical Left” firsthand.
Bruce, according to her Fox News bio, was a registered Democrat until 2008, worked on a handful of left-wing political campaigns in the 1990s and “now works to make sure her experience as a liberal community organizer is used to expose and help defeat the leftist agenda.” She previously led the National Organization for Women.
“As one of the longest serving News Contributors, Tammy has brought TRUTH to the American People for over two decades,” Trump wrote on Friday. “I know she will bring that same strength of conviction and fearless spirit to her new position as State Department Spokesperson.”
Bruce joins several other former Fox News hosts and contributors the incoming president has tapped to be a part of his administration, including Sean Duffy, Pete Hegseth, Janette Nesheiwat and Monica Crowley. Bruce will not need to be confirmed by the Senate for this role.
