Sub-freezing temperatures, sunshine forecast for Trump inauguration
Sub-freezing temperatures and sunshine are forecast for President-elect Trump’s inauguration Monday.
The bitter cold follows a period of wintry weather in the Washington area that featured a few inches of snow, freezing temperatures and blustery winds.
According to a forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS), the high temperature for next Monday will be close to 24 degrees, alongside some sunshine. On Monday night, the low temperature will approach 6 degrees and it will be partly cloudy, the agency said.
The president-elect has a history of commenting on the weather of his Inauguration Day, almost welcoming a chance of rain on the first day of his presidency eight years ago.
”It may rain, it may not rain. It doesn’t matter. I don’t care,” Trump said prior to his first inauguration. “If it really pours, that’s OK because people will realize it’s my real hair and that’s OK. It might be a mess, but they’re going to see that it’s my real hair.”
Trump’s first few days in office are set to be cold as well, with the NWS forecasting close to 20 degrees as the high temperature Tuesday and close to 22 degrees as the high temperature Wednesday.
