Sabrina Carpenter registered more voters during tour than any artist
Pop star Sabrina Carpenter registered more voters during her recent “Short n’ Sweet” arena tour than any other artist, according to HeadCount, a nonprofit that helps people register to vote.
Carpenter registered 35,814 voters during her tour, more than any other artist working with HeadCount in 2024. She had an additional 263,087 voter engagements, as measured by people checking registration status and nearest polling locations, Variety reported.
The singer announced her collaboration with the organization to register young voters ahead of the launch of her tour, which had 23 shows before Election Day. The tour kicked off in Columbus, Ohio, in September.
“Through our partnerships with over 100 top music artists — like Sabrina Carpenter, Green Day, Ariana Grande, and so many others — HeadCount had a record-breaking year registering over 450,000 new voters and engaging over a million more people to make sure they vote,” Lucille Wenegieme, executive director of HeadCount, said, according to Variety.
Wenegieme said HeadCount’s process works because musicians have a “cultural cache and an intimate connection” with their fans, particularly younger supporters.
More than 80 percent of the newly registered voters from the nonprofit are Generation Z or millennials, Variety noted.
Many celebrities flocked to the campaign trail this election. Beyoncé endorsed Vice President Harris and appeared at a Houston, Texas, rally. Many other artists have performed at Harris’s rallies to turn out support for the vice president and voting in the 2024 general election.
