Rogan says hippies, artists, musicians thanking him for Trump endorsement
Podcaster Joe Rogan said hippies, artists, musicians and comedians reached out to him, thanking him for his endorsement of President-elect Trump right before Election Day.
During an episode of his podcast "The Joe Rogan Experience" on Wednesday, Rogan told criminal justice reform advocate Josh Dubin that although he thinks many artists and musicians support Vice President Harris, he received a lot of praise for endorsing Trump in the presidential election "because they can't do it."
“There’s a lot of people that don’t speak their mind. Do you know how many artists that have reached out to me that are, like, f--‑ing hippies, man, like artists, like musicians, comedians that thanked me for endorsing Trump because they can’t do it? They said they want to, but they don’t want to be attacked,” Rogan said.
Rogan claimed earlier in the episode, as an example, that people will say they're supporting something even if they don't, just so they don't get attacked.
"A lot of what people say, they say it because they don't want people to attack them. They say it because they think that if they say it, it will clear them, they'll be okay," Rogan said.
Rogan had made headlines before the election for interviewing both Trump and billionaire Elon Musk.
Rogan's interview with Trump garnered nearly 40 million views on YouTube in just three days and was part of a wider push to court young voters. Rogan interviewed Musk the day before the election, discussing an advertiser boycott that has plagued the social media platform X since he purchased it in October 2022.
