Ocasio-Cortez on Homan suggesting she's 'gonna be in trouble': 'Maybe he can learn to read'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) hit back at President Trump's "border czar" earlier this week, after Tom Homan condemned her efforts to educate migrants on their rights as the Trump administration's immigration agenda sets in.
“Is that impeding our law enforcement efforts? And if so, what are we going to do about it? Is she crossing the line,” Homan asked, referring to Ocasio-Cortez's Wednesday webinar, during an appearance on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle.”
“So, I’m working with the Department of Justice and finding out. Where is that line that they cross? So, maybe AOC’s gonna be in trouble now,” he added, while also threatening to pull federal dollars from states that do not comply with deportations.
Ocasio-Cortez mocked Homan in a post on the social platform Bluesky.
“‘MaYbe shE’s goiNg to be in TroUble nOw,’” she wrote Thursday evening.
“Maybe he can learn to read. The Constitution would be a good place to start," the lawmaker added.
The New York Democrat has been extremely critical of the Trump administration’s efforts to carry out what the president promised on the campaign trail to be the largest deportations in U.S. history.
Ocasio-Cortez was among a group of Democrats to declare as unconstitutional Trump's executive order barring the children of immigrants lacking legal status from birthright citizenship. At least four federal judges have temporarily blocked the president’s order, but raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are ramping up across the country.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) also became a target for GOP attacks after hosting a similar meeting to educate Somali migrants on the current deportation statutes and laws.
