Musk-backed PAC launches first TV ad after Trump address

Tech billionaire Elon Musk’s America PAC launched its first ever television ad on Wednesday following President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress.
“After four long years of humiliation, a failure at home, and embarrassment abroad, our long, national nightmare is over. Strength is back, common sense is back, America is back,” the ad’s narrator says, echoing the theme of Trump’s Tuesday evening address.
The minute-long spot highlights Trump’s actions on the southern border, energy and foreign policy, and efforts to reduce the size of the federal government.
“He’s taking on the ruling elite and returning the rule of the people,” the ad says.
The political action played a role in supporting Trump ahead of last year’s presidential election.
Musk, who has played a leading role in the Trump administration as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), said last year the group would continue to play a role in the midterms.
“Normally, PACs go somewhat dormant after a big election,” Musk wrote on his platform X last year.
“@America PAC is going to do the opposite and keep grinding, increasing Republican registrations in key districts around the country, in preparation for special elections and the midterms,” he continued.
“And, of course, play a significant role in primaries,” Musk added.
Musk attended Tuesday’s joint address to Congress and received a standing ovation from Republicans in the House chamber when Trump praised him during the remarks. However, Musk has become a target of Democrats over his leadership of DOGE, which has worked at breakneck speed to reduce the size and scope of the federal government through mass federal worker layoffs.
Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), who delivered the Democratic rebuttal to Trump’s address on Tuesday, criticized Musk and his efforts as reckless.
“Is there anyone in America who is comfortable with him and his gang of 20-year-olds using their own computer servers to poke through your tax returns, your health information and your bank accounts?” Slotkin said in her rebuttal.
