Musk to join Trump’s first White House Cabinet meeting

Tech billionaire Elon Musk is set to join President Trump’s first White House Cabinet meeting slated for Wednesday, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.
Musk's attendance comes as widespread confusion continues to plague agencies over a directive by Musk over the weekend that indicated every federal employee must answer an email with five bullet points of what they accomplished over the last week.
The email was met with several Trump-appointed agency heads — including at the Justice Department, FBI and CIA — telling their employees not to respond or risk divulging classified information.
“Elon, considering he is working alongside the president and our Cabinet secretaries — this entire administration will be in attendance tomorrow,” Leavitt told reporters Tuesday.
Leavitt pushed back on questioning over whether there will be a discussion during the meeting over the Musk-led overhaul of the federal government as the email began to expose some rifts among Trump's administration allies.
“I would reject the premise of your question. … everybody is working as one team and the president respects the decisions of the Cabinet secretaries to tell their staff to respond to that email,” she said, adding that agencies that are not responding are doing so because of national security concerns.
Leavitt also added that Musk is a special government employee and said she wouldn’t reveal the name of the administrator of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Last week, a court filing revealed that Musk is not technically a part of DOGE and that he is an employee of the “White House Office” and serves as senior adviser to the president.
