Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, leans into 'family name'

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is now using Prince Harry's "family name" as her surname as she promotes her new Netflix series.
"This is the Fast Five with Meghan Sussex," Drew Barrymore said as she introduced a segment with Meghan on her eponymous daytime talk show on Wednesday.
The move to call the British royal family member — who was born Meghan Markle — by the Sussex name came after the 43-year-old former "Suits" star corrected Mindy Kaling during a segment on her new Netflix series, "With Love, Meghan."
"I don't think anyone in the world knows that Meghan Markle has eaten Jack in the Box," Kaling said on the second episode of the cooking and lifestyle program that premiered Tuesday.
“It’s so funny too, that you keep saying ‘Meghan Markle.’ You know I’m Sussex now,” Meghan told the "Office" actor.
“You have kids and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children,'" Meghan said.
"I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me. But it just means so much to go, ’This is our family name," she added.
Meghan made a similar remark in an interview published Monday in People magazine, referring to the Sussex surname as part of her "love story" with Harry, who she wed in 2018. The couple stepped down as full-time working members of the royal family and moved to California in 2020.
Using the title as a surname was described as a royal family tradition by People.
The mother of two said of the Sussex name, “I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”
