Marist polls: Harris leads Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin; they're tied in Pennsylvania
Vice President Harris is leading former President Trump by 5 points among likely voters in Michigan and is leading slightly in Wisconsin, while the two candidates are tied in Pennsylvania, according to new Marist battleground state polls.
Fifty-two percent of likely voters polled in Michigan supported Harris and 47 percent supported Trump; in Wisconsin, 50 percent of likely voters polled supported Harris, compared to 49 percent who said they supported Trump.
Harris and Trump each received 49 percent of support among likely voters in Pennsylvania, the survey of the battleground state found.
In Michigan, Harris’s lead narrowed among independents, with 49 percent supporting her and 47 percent supporting Trump. Trump led with 50 percent, compared to 48 percent for Harris, among white voters, and Harris led with 77 percent, compared to 21 percent for Trump, among Black voters.
Among male and female voters in Michigan, the electorate was split: Trump led Harris, 52 percent to 47 percent, among men and Harris led Trump, 56 percent to 41 percent, among women.
In Wisconsin, Harris had a wider lead among independents only, ahead of Trump 51 percent compared to his 47 percent.
Harris received 50 percent support from white voters, while Trump received 49 percent support, and Harris led 56 percent compared to Trump’s 43 percent among nonwhite voters.
Also in Wisconsin, Harris led Trump over both men and women. She was ahead of Trump, 56 percent to 43 percent, among women and Trump was ahead of Harris, 53 percent to 45 percent, among men.
Trump had an edge over Harris among independents in Pennsylvania, leading 49 percent to 45 percent.
He also edged her out, 51 percent to 48 percent, among white voters, while Harris led 59 percent to 38 percent among nonwhite voters.
Between male and female voters in Pennsylvania, Trump led Harris, 54 to 44, among men, while Harris led Trump, 55 to 43, among women.
Other recent survey, looking at the same states, found the vice president leading the former president in all three battlegrounds. A Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday found Harris leading Trump by 6 points in Pennsylvania, by 5 points in Michigan, and by one point in Wisconsin.
Meanwhile, the Hill/Decision Desk HQ aggregate polling shows a much closer race in all three swing states. The aggregation shows Harris up 1.4 percentage points in Michigan, Harris up 2.6 percentage points in Wisconsin and Harris up 1 percentage point in Pennsylvania.
The Marist surveys were conducted from Sept. 12-17. The Michigan survey included 1,354 adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points. The Wisconsin survey included 1,431 adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points. The Pennsylvania survey included 1,754 adults and has a margin of effort of plus or minute 2.9 percentage points.
