Live updates: Trump signs pardons for Jan. 6 rioters, more border-related orders
President-elect Trump has been sworn-in as the nation's 47th president, only the second man in the nation's history to return to the Oval Office after a hiatus.
His inauguration is already ushering in a flurry of actions. After an indoor inaugural parade, Trump, in front of family and a crowd, prepared to sign executive orders on immigration that will, in part, unwind rules and standards set in the Biden era. Other executive orders were aimed at Biden administration policies on energy, taxation on tips and the federal government's structure.
He returned to the White House and signed more orders, including clemency for people involved in the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as well as an order that would examine birthright citizenship.
Trump began the day on Monday with a church service in Lafayette Square alongside his family. He arrived at the White House around 10 a.m. to meet the Bidens for tea before they all set off for the Capitol.
Trump gave the first of three addresses in the Capitol Rotunda after he was sworn in. A second speech, less scripted, happened shortly afterward in Emancipation Hall in front of the Rotunda overflow crowd. Ahead of signing executive orders, Trump spoke to the parade crowd.
Inauguration events kicked off Saturday, when the former and future president returned to Washington. He, along with Vice President-elect JD Vance, have been feted in receptions and a victory rally.
Follow along all day for updates on the day's events.
