Live updates: Musk's USAID actions ruled 'likely' unlawful; Roberts pushes back on Trump's call for judge's impeachment

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts issued a rare rebuke of President Trump on Tuesday amid an escalating battle between the executive and judicial branches of government over the president's powers.
Roberts issued a statement countering the president after Trump called for the impeachment of the district court judge who directed flights carrying Venezuelan migrants be turned around and returned to the United States.
The battle is just one piece of news on a busy day, which is also being shaped by Trump's phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a discussion that lasted nearly three hours Tuesday. Washington is pushing the Kremlin to start winding down the war in Ukraine. Kyiv has accepted the terms of a 30-day ceasefire.
Separately, tens of thousands of pages related to the assassination of former President Kennedy are expected to be declassified later in the day.
