James Woods breaks down in tears describing California fires on CNN
Actor James Woods broke down in tears during an interview on CNN as he described the wildfires that are ripping through southern California and forced him to evacuate his home in the Pacific Palisades.
"I'm sorry, it's just one day you're in the pool and the next its all gone," Woods, with both hands on his forehead, said Wednesday during an interview on the cable news channel.
Woods said his wife's 8-year-old niece "came out with her little piggy bank for us to rebuild our house."
"I'm sorry, I thought I was stronger than this," he said as he fought back tears.
The actor and celebrity made a series of posts online on Tuesday showing a video of a fire engulfing his neighbor’s home in the Palisades.
Woods and thousands of others have been ordered to evacuate as four fires expand in California and have burned through nearly 3,000 acres with no containment as of Wednesday morning.
"I took this last night from our beautiful little home in the Palisades," he wrote in a subsequent post on X along with a video looking over the bay and homes in the area at sunset Monday. "Now all the fire alarms are going off at once remotely. It tests your soul, losing everything at once, I must say.
