Jack Schlossberg calls out Trump, RFK Jr., says family got no 'heads up' on JFK files release
Jack Schlossberg, former President John F. Kennedy’s grandson, called out President Trump and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over the release of close to 2,200 files on his grandfather’s assassination.
“No — THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION DID NOT GIVE ANYONE IN PRESIDENT KENNEDY’S FAMILY ‘A HEADS UP’ABOUT THE RELEASE a total surprise, and not shocker !! But @RobertKennedyJr definitely knew,” Schlossberg said in a Tuesday evening post on social platform X.
Early Wednesday morning, Schlossberg also said on X that the president “is obsessed with my grandfather — but not in his life or what he achieved in it.”
“No, just like @robertfkennedyjr @realdonaldtrump is only interested in JFK’s carcass,” he added. “These men are stealing history from present and future generations — by appropriating the past for their criminal agenda, they normalize themselves in the minds of those without living memory.”
On Tuesday, the National Archives released close to 2,200 files connected to John F. Kennedy’s assassination. The release of the files followed Trump vowing on the campaign trail and in office to make the remaining documents publicly available.
Trump signed an executive order at the beginning of his second term to release the remaining documents from the federal government about John F. Kennedy’s, former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy’s and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassinations.
A number of analyses have discovered that much of the documents have previously been released to the public in some form but were redacted in the past.
“JFK drafted the civil rights act — Trump made DEI illegal. JFK stared down Russia and did not blink — Trump is Russia’s closest ally,” Schlossberg said Wednesday on X. “JFK sent a man to the moon — Trump gave Elon [Musk] the keys to Air Force One. JFK created USAID — Trump eliminated it.”
The Hill has reached out to the Department of Health and Human Services and the White House for comment.
