Harris, Trump deadlocked in seven key swing states: Polling
Vice President Harris and former President Trump are deadlocked in the key battleground states ahead of November, new polling shows.
The survey, released Wednesday by Bloomberg News/Morning Consult, shows that across the seven swing states, Harris and Trump are nearly tied. The vice president has a razor-thin lead over her GOP rival, garnering 49.1 percent support to his 48.5 percent.
In Arizona, the results are nearly similar. Harris leads with 49.1 percent and Trump follows closely behind with 48.8 percent. Georgia shows Trump ahead with 49.9 percent to the Democratic nominee's 48.4 percent, according to the poll.
Trump is also leading in North Carolina, 49.6 percent to 48.5 percent, and Wisconsin, with 48.3 percent to Harris's 48 percent, the survey found.
Harris is leading in Pennsylvania, one of the most crucial states, with 50 percent support to Trump’s 48.2 percent. She also leads in Michigan, with 49.6 percent to the former president’s 46.5 percent. In Nevada, the vice president holds a slight lead with 48.8 percent to the GOP nominee's 48.3 percent, the data shows.
Each state’s results are within the survey's margin of error.
Still, the numbers show that less than two weeks out from Election Day, the race is still neck and neck, and the swing states could still go to either candidate.
Harris, who climbed to the top of the ticket after President Biden withdrew from the race in late July, rode a wave of momentum through the late summer. Recent polling, however, has trended toward the former president, suggesting the enthusiasm that propelled Harris to become the Democratic nominee may be slipping away.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index shows the vice president leading Trump by 0.9 points nationally — 48.7 percent to 47.8 percent.
The Bloomberg/Morning Consult survey was conducted Oct. 16-20 among 5,308 registered voters in the battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The margin of error is 1 percentage point.
