Former Packers quarterback Brett Favre to campaign with Trump in Wisconsin
Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre is set to campaign with former President Trump in the critical swing state of Wisconsin next week.
Trump’s campaign said that the Hall of Fame former NFL player will be a “special guest” speaker when Trump visits Green Bay, Wisc., on Oct. 30, less than a week before Election Day.
Favre and the former president are set to address Trump’s supporters at 6 p.m. local time at the Resch Center, an arena located in Ashwaubenon, a suburb of Green Bay.
Next week, Trump will also make a campaign stop in Milwaukee while his counterpart, Vice President Harris, will be doing a rally in Madison.
Favre, who backed the former president during his 2020 bid, played for 20 years in the NFL, winning the Super Bowl in 1997 and amassing three straight MVP awards. He announced last month during a congressional hearing that he was battling Parkinson’s disease — a nerve disorder.
Favre testified in front of the House Ways and Means Committee after facing allegations that he utilized Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) state funds for personal projects. He has denied wrongdoing and argued during the hearing that state officials were at fault for the misuse of funds.
“The challenges my family and I have faced over the last three years because certain government officials in Mississippi failed to protect federal TANF funds from fraud and abuse and are unjustifiably trying to blame me,” Favre said at the time.
Both party nominees have leaned into celebrity endorsements from singers Lizzo and Beyonce for Harris to Lee Greenwood and billionaire Elon Musk for Trump.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's polling index shows the vice president with a razor thin lead over her GOP rival nationally — 48.6 percent to 47.8 percent. In the Badger State, Trump takes the lead with 48.5 percent support compared to Harris's 48.1 percent, the index shows.
