Fanone tells Stewart Rhodes to 'go f‑‑‑ yourself' live on CNN
Michael Fanone, a former Washington, D.C., police officer who was attacked during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol, cursed out Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the anti-government group the Oath Keepers, during an appearance Wednesday on CNN.
As Fanone was appearing on the network to discuss President Trump's pardon of the Jan. 6 rioters, including Rhodes, CNN played a clip of Rhodes saying he had no regrets for his actions leading up to and on the day of attack.
"Because we did the right thing. We were there to protect Trump supporters from antifa," Rhodes told reporters after being released from jail. "The guys that went inside were not committing violence. They helped police."
CNN anchor Pamela Brown asked Fanone to respond to Rhodes.
"Yeah, I mean, this is what I would say to Stewart Rhodes: Go f‑‑‑ yourself," the former police offer exclaimed. "You're a liar."
"OK," a visibly surprised Brown reacted. "We didn't obviously get to bleep that word out ... but obviously this is personal to you."
Fanone said this week he feels like he has a target on his back under Trump.
Fanone said he expects “to experience violence” at the hands of some individuals pardoned by Trump, “whether it’s the ones that directly assaulted me or others who see me as a spokesperson for accountability for Jan. 6.”
