Cuban: Trump 'doesn’t like to be challenged' by women
Businessman Mark Cuban claimed that Donald Trump does not surround himself with "strong, intelligent women," alleging that the former president "doesn't like to be challenged" by them.
"Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women, ever. It's just that simple, they're intimidating to him. He doesn't like to be challenged by them," Cuban said Thursday on ABC's "The View," per Mediaite.
Cuban, who has hit the campaign trail for Vice President Harris, then noted former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley as an example.
Earlier this week, Haley warned Republicans about messaging on women and Latinos after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe joked about Puerto Rico and Latino and Black people at the New York City Trump rally over the weekend.
“I mean, Puerto Ricans, that’s personal for them. They take that personally. So, if they were right to denounce the comedian, they need to go and tell Puerto Ricans how much you know they do value them. They need to tell Latinos that," Haley said.
“But they also need to look at how they’re talking about women,” she added. “I mean, that this bro romance and this masculinity stuff, I mean, it borders on edgy to the point that it’s going to make women uncomfortable.”
Haley has not been stumping for Trump and said last month that she had not been asked to campaign for the Republican presidential nominee. Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Michael Whatley said in an interview on NewsNation's "The Hill" that the RNC would "welcome" her support on the campaign trail.
"The View" host Joy Behar responded to Cuban's remarks, saying that Stormy Daniels is a "very smart" woman. Host Whoopi Goldberg then jumped in and explained that Cuban was referring to the women Trump has "onstage."
A CBS News/YouGov survey from earlier this week found that support for Harris and Trump is largely split by gender, with 55 percent of Harris's support coming from women, while 54 percent of Trump's support comes from men.
The Hill has contacted the Trump campaign for comment.
