Chris Cuomo inks new deal with NewsNation
NewsNation has agreed to a new multiyear deal with anchor Chris Cuomo, the network announced Monday.
Cuomo will continue to host a weeknight show at 8 p.m. EST as part of his new contract with the cable news channel, which is owned by Nexstar Media Group.
“Chris is a one-of-a-kind talent whose unrivaled analysis and commentary has helped grow the audience at NewsNation and strengthen our brand," said Sean Compton, president of Nexstar’s Networks Division. “He believes strongly in NewsNation’s mission of delivering ‘News for All Americans’ and we are extremely pleased that he will remain a staple of the network’s primetime lineup.”
Cuomo, in a statement issued through the network, said, "Of course I am staying. Where else but NewsNation can you expose the game instead of being forced to play? Let’s get after it!”
A former CNN and ABC News anchor, Cuomo joined NewsNation in 2022.
He has hosted an eponymous weeknight show and presided over a variety of town halls and special programs for NewsNation featuring discussions on trade, jobs, antisemitism, crime in America and the Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.
Just days before last month's presidential election, Cuomo hosted a NewsNation town hall with Vice President-elect JD Vance.
Nexstar Media Group, which also owns The Hill, launched NewsNation in 2021 and has steadily added to its programming lineup and roster of talent in the years since.
