Charlamagne tha God dismisses Ramaswamy remarks about DOGE exit: ‘I don’t believe you’
Radio host Charlamagne tha God dismissed Vivek Ramaswamy’s remarks about his exit from the “Department of Government Efficiency,” saying he doesn’t believe the entrepreneur.
On his show “The Breakfast Club,” Charlamagne interviewed Ramaswamy, who intends to run for governor of Ohio after departing President Trump’s DOGE.
Charlamagne questioned if Ramaswamy, who was meant to co-lead the department with Elon Musk, was pushed out or fired.
“It was a slightly different vision from where we started to where we landed,” Ramaswamy replied, highlighted by Mediaite.
Ramaswamy said his vision for his role in the Trump administration began as examining the constitutional and legal basis for downsizing the federal government. With Musk joining the team, Ramaswamy said “it evolved” into a technology project.
He said he and Musk were “on good terms” but had “slightly different approaches to the project.” He previously said it was “incorrect” to say he and Musk didn’t get along.
“What he and I both concluded, and I think this is right, is given my focus on law, on legislation, the right way to realize my vision is through elected office, so that’s what I’m gonna be pursuing,” Ramaswamy said.
Charlamange pushed back, noting the reports that said the Ohio entrepreneur, who ran against Trump in the 2024 GOP primary, was shoved out over disagreements with Musk.
“I would say that we arrived at it pretty mutually,” Ramaswamy replied, later adding “I’ve been committed to this path of likely running for governor of Ohio for a long time.”
Charlamange later highlighted Trump revoking federal government diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. He asked Ramaswamy if he was forced out of DOGE because of that.
“With a technology-driven approach and a technology-first approach, there’s no better person than Elon to run that. With a constitutional law focus, with a legislation focus, some of the areas I was focused on, probably the right place to do it is elected office,” Ramaswamy reiterated. “And so we all agreed on that, and I think that that’s actually a good thing where we’re able to … collaborate, divide and conquer.”
“I hear you, Vivek. I don’t believe you,” Charlamange said. “I think you either got pushed out, or you know that it’s going to implode. I think that you know Elon is going to crash and burn.”
