Biden rejoins Hollywood agency that also represents Obamas
Former President Biden signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) on Monday, giving a window into his post-presidency next moves.
“President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs,” Richard Lovett, co-chair of CAA, said in a statement. “His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and possibility. We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.”
Biden was represented by CAA from 2017 to 2020, between his time as vice president and president. He published his memoir “Promise Me Dad” and launched the “American Promise” speaking tour while with CAA.
CAA also represents former President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama.
Biden, who is 82 years old, hasn’t given much indication into his life after the presidency and following his five-decade-long career in politics. He told reporters on his way out of office, “I’m not going to be out of sight or out of mind.”
He traveled to a vacation in California on the day of President Trump’s inauguration and has homes in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, Del.
In the first weeks of the Trump presidency, Biden’s successor has repeatedly talked about him. Trump has called Biden “a disaster” and blamed diversity initiatives during his administration for aviation safety issues following a midair collision last week. On Friday alone, he mentioned Biden 11 times in 25 minutes while talking to reporters in the Oval Office, according to The Washington Post.
